The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) is offering a free application, BOE ePay, that allows owners of most mobile devices to make payments to their BOE tax and fee accounts, announced George Runner, BOE Second District Member. BOE ePay provides a fast, easy, safe and convenient new way to do business.
“It’s no fun paying taxes, but it’s even worse when government doesn’t make it quick and easy,” said Runner. “If done right, mobile apps and other innovative technologies could make paying taxes a bit less painful for 21stcentury taxpayers.”
BOE ePay enables taxpayers to use their credit card, checking or savings account to make ePayments, view their ePayment histo
ry and register and manage their eClient account. Taxpayers must register as an eClient to use all application features. An Express Login code is available to taxpayers who simply want to make ePayments.
To see BOE ePay in action, check out the video and find the application here: www.boe.ca.gov/mobile/. Blackberry and other mobile devices can use BOE ePay as long as they use a web browser other than Internet Explorer.
The application is the latest created by the BOE. Another application allows taxpayers to find the sales tax rate of any jurisdiction and locate their district office. These applications are another way the BOE is making it easier for Californians to comply with tax laws and regulations.
